Today is the Day of the Race, Discovery of America and Battle of Sarandi.



The date marks the birth of a new identity and fusion product of the encounter of native peoples in the Americas and the Spanish.

In a major effort, Lavalleja could muster a quota similar to the Brazilian number, and faced the army in the tips of the Sarandi stream, land currently under the jurisdiction of the Department of Florida on October 12, 1825.
